World Population Day 2022 and Its Significance
World Population Day is observed on 11 July every year to raise awareness among people about the impact of a growing population and issues including gender equality, the importance of family planning, poverty, maternal health, human rights, etc. It vitalizes activities, events, and information to help make this right a reality throughout the world.

The world's population is growing rapidly and already reached 767.35 crores approx. in 2019. The observation of world population day creates awareness among the general masses about the issue of overgrowing population.
World Population Day was instituted in 1989 as an outgrowth of the Day of Five Billion, marked on July 11, 1987. The UN authorized the event as a vehicle to build an awareness of population issues and the impact they have on development and the environment.
According to UNFPA, this year's world population day 2022 theme will focus on "A world of 8 billion: Towards a resilient future for all - Harnessing opportunities and ensuring rights and choices for all"
