World Health Day 2022 and Its Significance
World Health Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness about the ongoing health issues that concern people across the world. The day is also used as an opportunity to spread awareness about the overall health and well-being of people. World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on 7 April, under the patronages of the World Health Organization, as well as other related organizations.
The World Health Organization was founded on April 7, 1948. Since then, the organization has carried out a huge amount of valuable work, including the global eradication of smallpox and the implementation of a wide range of public health strategies. Now, 193 countries are members and the organization is still working to improve many aspects of health around the world.
At the First World Health Assembly in 1948, the delegates called for a World Health Day to mark the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organization. This has been held on April 7 every year since 1950. The day is used to draw attention to particular priorities in global health.
The theme for this year’s World Health Day is “Our Planet, Our Health". Amid the ongoing pandemic and pollution growing on the planet, diseases like cancer, asthma, and heart diseases are increasing rapidly.
Health is one of the most vital impacts areas of ADRA in Bangladesh. ADRA in Bangladesh assisting the targeted community people by providing a wide range of provisions in terms of Health & Hygiene, Water, and Sanitation for 11 years. ADRA organizes various types of workshops, seminars, rally to stimulate health issues and raise public awareness.
By celebrating such international health days for awareness, the idea is to spread knowledge on health issues and empower people in the decision-making on health and medical treatment. World Health Day is such a day through which universal health can be attained as it spread awareness about health issues.
