Vulnerable Communities are Sustaining their Livelihoods with IGA Training

Income Generating Activity (IGA) Training is a program that has become increasingly popular in recent years. The program aims to empower individuals and families to create opportunities for themselves by developing skills and knowledge in generating income. The program is designed to provide participants with the necessary tools to develop sustainable income-generating activities that can help improve their financial circumstances.

The significance of IGA training cannot be overstated. For many individuals and families, generating income is a vital part of their daily lives. By providing individuals with the training they need to generate income, IGA programs can help break the cycle of poverty in many communities.

ADRA Bangladesh organizes different types of Income Generating Activities (IGAs) training programs for marginalized communities across the country through its projects. Recently, the Chalantika Slum Children Development Project (CSCDP) organized training on Food Processing and Tailoring for the slum dwellers.

A total of 9 women completed the Tailoring Training, and 10 women completed the Food Processing Training. ADRA Bangladesh distributed sewing machines among the participants so they could utilize their training and earn money to support their families.

ADRA Bangladesh also provided BDT. 5,000 cash to the participants who completed the Food Processing Training. This would help them to get started with a small business. This can be particularly important for individuals who are unable to find employment or who are underemployed. Participants can take control of their financial circumstances and create a better future for themselves and their families.
